Ride sharing has involved some thoughtful concern with both titans and startups. Google had started its Waze Rider program in the month of September in the Bay Area. The Danish car manufacturer Spiri will launch its fleet of small sized spry electric cars for a pilot program of ride-sharing in Europe in the year 2017. Not to be defeated, Hyundai is starting EV versions of their IONIQ Sedan for ad-supported ride-sharing startup Waive-Car and planning for its deployment in the Los Angeles. According to the deal, the users of Waive-Car will be able to get an entirely free spin for 2 hours of an IONIQ Sedan. As an interchange, the car will display ads on the roof and body using a 4G data connectivity installed in the car in order to adjust advertising.
It depends on the destination or route of traveler and timing of the day. Users will be able to keep the car after free trial period for $6 per hour or leave the car off in specified Waive-Car spots. It would be more feasible for both the small startup and the giant car manufacturers. This project will begin with a fleet of efficient EVs with 150 cars, but it will not be available until 2017 in the United States. The Hyundai has planned to offer an attractive opportunity to interested drivers to find how the car will match their lifestyle in a heavily-manufactured vehicle. Even if the advertising opportunity recovers the costs to both companies for offering free rides.
