Female Edition of Samsung Galaxy A8S launched on Valentine’s Day in ChinaThe first smartphone with a punched-hole camera was launched by Samsung on 10 December in China. The company called the Samsung A8s featuring the ‘Infinity-O’ display. The GizChina reported that the company has now come up with a colored variant for the same which is to be launched on the 14 February celebrating Valentine’s Day. The CEO of Samsung Mobile China, Koh Dong Jin was spotted showcasing the new variant of A8s.

The new change has been mentioned for this variant is the change in color. The rear of the phone is a gradient coloring with shades of Gold and Pink. This variant of the phone is mentioned to be called as the new “Galaxy A8s FE” where the FE stands for Female Edition. People are unable to understand why the company is specifically targeting the female audience for their new phone’s specs; design and size remain the same. There is just a slight change in the color of the phone.

If the company is trying to associate the color of the phone to the female audience then it just somewhat comes across like its garnering stereotypes. The A8s has a display of 6.4-inch Infinity-O with a ratio of 19.5:9. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 chipset which sits right below the Snapdragon 845. It was launched in 2 storage variants: one with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage and the other with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. But, the storage can be expanded up to 512 GB using a microSD card. The Galaxy A8s also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear.

Camera specifications include a triple camera set up at the back with a 24 MP primary camera unit with an f/1.7 aperture for low-light photography. The secondary sensor is a 10 MP unit which supports 2X optical zoom and finally, the third sensor is a 5 MP unit for depth-sensing. The front camera includes a single 24 MP sensor which is placed beneath the display.
