Microsoft has previously given users of older Windows versions but now it’s time to move on. The software giant is giving its users more of a push by terminating things dear to their hearts, including their board and card games. The company has planned to shut down a number of Internet Games for people using Windows 7 and earlier versions. These removed games include Backgammon, Checkers, Hearts, Reversi, Spades, and MSN Go. People will lose access but it depends on their version of Windows. The users running operating system losing access will be Windows XP and Windows ME. The compatible games for them, everything except MSN Go, will vanish in mere days on July 31^st, 2019.

The users running Windows 7 on their systems will get a bit of a break. They’ll have access to Backgammon, Checkers, Spades and MSN Go until January 22^nd, 2020. It will be roughly a week after Microsoft ends normal support for Windows 7. There are bound to be web-based equivalents to these games, so people might not be entirely stuck if you’re determined to play something on an older PC. The software giant would no doubt prefer that you upgrade to a Windows 10 system and play something from its own app store. It’s almost surprising that support didn’t end earlier. Microsoft stopped regular maintenance of Windows XP and ME a couple of years ago. The Internet Games on those platforms were clearly living on borrowed time.
