Some smartphone manufacturing companies and firms have announced foldable phones in the last three years. Now, Oppo has released its first foldable device the Find N, after 3 years of announcing a prototype device. Oppo issued a press release and said, “The Find N looks much similar to a device along the lines of Samsung’s Galaxy Fold lineup. It was created after 4 years of intense R&D and 6 generations of prototypes”. The company is expected to launch the device at Oppo Inno Day on 15th December 2021. However, the smartphone manufacturer didn’t reveal any processor, display, or other specs of the Find N, instead of showing an image and video. It did promise an attractive and beautiful device that feels good in the hand.
The Find N will be simple to use in both the open and closed positions. Oppo also said that it has solved any screen creasing and durability issues inherent in folding smartphones. Point to be noted that the company best known for folding smartphones is Samsung, with both the Fold and Flip devices. However, Samsung took at least three generations to work out major kinks in the Fold lineup, but the latest Fold 3 model still needs some extra amount of work. Oppo has played things differently by waiting to release its first model, presumably until it felt it had ironed out any major issues.
Moreover, on top of the Find N, Oppo is set to announce other products during the event, having teased a cutting-edge NPU (neural processing unit) and smart glasses. The latter will presumably succeed last year’s Oppo AR Glass 2021, developer-only Wayfarer-type glasses with 0.71-inch OLED panels meant to be connected to Android devices via a USB cable. It is noteworthy that the company also teased the new model with a light vs. light tagline, so they might be lightweight models aimed at consumers, not just developers. You will get more information, as Oppo Inno Day runs from 15th December 2021.
