LG to launch new GX Sound Bar and 4K OLED HDTVs this monthLG Electronics has announced the departure of a new soundbar. It is designed to inventively match its GX Gallery line of OLED TVs. The new LG GX soundbar reportedly offers 3.1 channels, along with Dolby Atmos, DTX:S capability, and it is Hi-Res Audio-certified at a price of $999. The new soundbar is 6 inches high by 57 inches wide by 1-1/4 inches deep, which is intended to match the size and look of the 65-inch LG GX Gallery series OLED TV. LG has indicated that the speaker supports both Dolby Vision and 4K pass-through. Moreover, its subwoofer connects wirelessly to the soundbar to deliver low-frequency bass from anywhere in the room.

Point to be noted that the LG GX Gallery lineup of 4K OLED TVs was announced earlier this year and features 55-inch at $2,200, 65-inch at $3,500, and 77-inch displays at $6,000. The new 65-inch GX has more attractive thinness and improved design and empowers its predecessors in a few key features. A review also said, “LG’s Gallery Series GX OLED begs a premium, but the added investment is returned in the form of gorgeous design, a slick wall mount system, and improved user experience,” the review said. “Toss in LG’s outstanding OLED picture quality, and you have one astounding TV”.

It is noteworthy that LG has planned to deliver its new range of 4K OLED TVs including a new 48-inch model. The GX soundbar is styled with the same aesthetics as LG’s flagship GX OLED TVs this year. However, the GX series 4K TVs at CES and unlike the wallpaper thin WX series OLEDs are not quite paper-thin but contain all of their necessary processing equipment inside a frame that’s only 20mm thick. It includes an indent for cabling so it can hang on your wall like a picture frame. LG is now selling 55, 65, and 77-inch versions. It can pass through 4K video with Dolby Vision HDR and can link up with the SPK8 wireless rear speaker kit for a true surround sound audio.
