Gaming laptops are being famous due to increasing demand and tough competition. HP has now refreshed its Omen 15 gaming laptop with a new look and the latest chips from both Intel and AMD. The company has started the sale of its updated gaming laptop with a redesign at $999. The new design trims the laptop’s size, decreasing its thickness by 11% and shortening the front dimension’s length by 8%. HP has also done away with the angular edges around the laptop’s hinge. The company now needs to emphasize a more subtle and minimalist look. It clearly indicates customers are using Omen hardware not just for gaming, but as all-purpose laptops.

HP Omen 15 gaming laptop will support AMD processors for the first time. It will enable users to outfit the laptops with the Ryzen 7 4000 chips, which are generally starting to proliferate across laptops. You can also configure the product with Intel’s 10th-generation Core Comet Lake H chips from the Core i5 range up to Core i7. The graphic options run from an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 card up to a GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q GPU. The other major alteration to the Omen laptop is the cooling system. HP has increased the laptop’s fan sizes and the exhaust outlets in the back to help boost the max airflow by over 62%.

The company has also added an infrared thermopile sensor, which is designed to detect heat across the laptop. The Omen 15 is expected to come with a range of RAM and storage options, including support for up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD. The device has a 15.6-inch display and it can be configured with a 4K OLED panel, or an IPS screen with a 120Hz, 144Hz, or even 300Hz refresh rate. But, if you are looking for a lower price gaming notebook, the company has also announced the Pavilion Gaming 16. It features a 10th-generation Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super Max-Q graphics card. But, the display can also be upgraded to support a 144Hz refresh rate. The device will go on sale at the end of June or during the first week of July 2020 at $799.
