Sony purchased its sensor business for 155 million U.S dollars in the year 2015 and Bain Capital also purchased its NAND flash memory department (including entire entities) for 18 billion U.S dollars. Now, Toshiba has announced the sale of its TV division to Hisense for just 113 million U.S dollars, which indicates about directions of the company. Reports pointed out that Toshiba is hopeful in making the sale to recover from its previous massive losses to its nuclear business. Toshiba has been considered the first Japanese company in the tech industry selling its TV department elsewhere. A Taiwanese electronics manufacturer (Foxconn) bought smartly its Sharp for 3.5 billion U.S dollars in a long-protracted deal in the month of March 2016. Sharp sold its Mexican factory for 23.7 million U.S dollars and all rights for TV production under its brand name in North American Hisense, just one year before the above mentioned deal. Now, the Foxconn-owned Sharp is looking to get those rights back, because Hisense is reportedly destroying its good brand name.
