Listen to this article

The Lenovo Legion 5i is marketed toward gamers who want to move up from a cheap gaming laptop to something more substantial. The complete Lenovo Legion 5i gaming laptop review can be found here.

The Legion 5i gaming laptops from Lenovo were recently made available to Indian customers for a starting price of Rs 1,44,990. The latest Legion gaming laptops feature independent graphics, direct connect technology, and Intel Core processors of the 12th generation. The new AI engine in the Legion 5i series of laptops, which identifies games and delivers performance based on gameplay, is another intriguing feature.

The Lenovo Legion 5i is designed for gamers who want to move up from a cheap gaming laptop to something more powerful. The Legion 5i can be customized, and gamers can upgrade the display, SSD, RAM, and even the Intel Core i7 to the 12th generation when they buy the device. Here is my review after using the Lenovo Legion 5i for a few weeks.

The gaming laptop’s robust build quality and compact design will impress you as soon as you open the box. It is, of course, not the lightest, but considering gaming laptops, its weight of approximately 2.4 kilograms is still manageable. Additionally, Lenovo has designed the laptop in a satisfactory manner. This gaming laptop doesn’t look too bulky, and the side has the new Legion branding. Additionally, unlike the majority of gaming laptops, its LED lights will not draw unwanted attention. This indicates that you can carry this laptop into offices to finish important work.

Lenovo asserts that the chassis has been completely redesigned, and the cover is anodized aluminum. The good news is that Lenovo has placed most of the ports at the laptop’s rear, making it easier to access them and preventing gaming interference.

Lenovo offers two display options: a 15.6-inch Full HD 165Hz display and a 15.6-inch WQHD 165hz display. The difference between the two is just Rs 500, and buyers can select one. The fact that it has an anti-glare display makes working with it in bright lighting easier. Lenovo boasts 100% sRGB color accuracy, a panel response time of approximately 3 milliseconds, and Gsync support. There are no complaints about this laptop’s display quality.

The 12th Generation Intel Core i5-12500H and Core i7-12700H processors are available to Lenovo customers. The new 12th Generation Intel Core H series processors are based on the Intel 7 process and offer up to 5GHz frequencies, 14 cores (six P-cores and eight E-cores), and 20 threads.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6GB GDDR6, RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6, and RTX 3070 Ti 8GB GDDR6X are the three graphics cards that can be selected for the base model.

Lenovo has included the Legion AI Engine, which optimizes the system’s performance to deliver the highest frame rates possible when a game starts. Lenovo claims that this laptop can automatically identify the best AAA games and issue a custom-tuned profile with 5-16

Lenovo claims to provide superior cooling while simultaneously reducing noise. There are two 12V fans with thinner fan blades that push hot air out of the system in four directions and pull cooler air from the bottom air intake through the keyboard deck. The thinner fan blades are said to reduce noise, and the fan speed has been increased to 4600 rpm.

The laptop comes with Nahimic 3D audio and a new feature called Easy Surround for audio. It creates an immersive audio experience by combining the laptop’s speakers with any external Bluetooth speaker. Additionally, audio customization options are available.  Nahimic also comes with a lot of customization options to make audio features even better.

Along with the Legion TrueStrike keyboard, which features anti-ghosting, a full-size number pad, and optional four zones of RGB backlighting, there is a new Full HD webcam. Additionally, an anti-abrasion finish is applied to the keys to extend their life.

The Legion 5i has a battery with 80 watt-hours and Super Rapid Charge technology, which says it can charge the battery from zero to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

In terms of connectivity, there are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Always On), two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one Thunderbolt 4/USB4 40Gbps port, HDMI, Ethernet (RJ-45), and a combo jack for headphones and microphones.

The Lenovo Legion 5i is a good choice for gamers and content creators because it offers a wide range of customization options. With the right combination of software features and hardware specifications, this machine is dependable. You’ll be impressed by the design and build quality, and the battery life seems to have improved. Overall, the Lenovo Legion 5i is the best option if you want a powerful gaming computer that also works well as a daily computer.
