Today you will explore features of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and head to head comparison with the new Ryzen 5 7600X. Our analysts put together the latest CPU buying guide focusing on upgrades for both platforms and complete system architecture. Meanwhile, AMD’s AM4 platform is good. But you may not invest in it because of Intel’s dead LGA 1700 platform supports the 13th-gen Raptop Lake parts.
Experts tested Ryzen 5 7600X on the MSI MEG X670E Ace motherboard with 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 single-rank memory. The MSI MPG X570S Carbon Max Wi-Fi 32GB of DDR4-3600 CL16 dual rank memory was used to test Ryzen 7 5800X3D. The GeForce RTX 4090, running Windows 11, changeable BAR configurations were enabled for both.
CoD: Warzone 2.0
The 5800X3D is faster than the 7600X and provides 9% more performance at 1080p and 8% more at 1440p. It offers the same performance at 4K but the multiplayer margin is quite similar as shown at 1080p and 1440p. However, the 3D V-Cache processor is traditionally faster in this game with competitive quality settings.
CoD: Modern Warfare II
It doesn’t matter which of these 2 CPUs you use for the single-player section of Modern Warfare II. Both CPUs can support high frame rates performance with the collaboration of a high-end GPU. Meanwhile, the overall performance was supposedly the same. Single players can get a highly enjoyable experience with more than enough 144 fps.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO)
The clock frequency performs a major function when we consider the performance of CS: GO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive). The 7600X will get a significant advantage and allows it to offer 37% more frames even for the 4K performance.
F1 22 (DX12)
The results for F1 22 were more interesting as most players need over 300 fps to enjoy this game. The 5800X3D was more than 8% faster at 1080p but a bit slower and highly repeatable at 4K. Meanwhile, the 7600X was able to manage more performance from RTX 4090 but is massively GPU bound at 4K.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG
PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) plays similarly using both CPUs. However, the performance is considered the same and the game can run excellently using either CPU.
Battlefield 2042
Battlefield 2042 is one of the difficult games for testing purposes but custom servers using Portal offer more ease. However, the performances of the 5800X3D and 7600X were found similar. The 5800X3D had a little bit of edge but people can’t notice during playing the game.
Assetto Corsa Competizione
Previous tests have proved the 5800X3D was very fast for the ACC driving simulator even compared with the next-gen hardware. It performs much better with a 13% margin beating the 7600X at 1080p and around 16% at 4K. This presents remarkable stuff from Zen 3 of AMD based on the 3D V-Cache section.
Watch Dogs: Legion
The 5800X3D provides much better performance in the Watch Dogs Legion game. This beats the 7600X at a considerable 10% margin at 1080p and 13% at 1440p. However, the results at 4K are limited to GPU. So, both the 5800X3D and 7600X are close together.
Cyberpunk 2077
The results for Cyberpunk 2077 were specific to the 7600X. The new Zen 4 CPU offers a handsome 17% more performance at 1080p and 1440p gets 16%. The traditional performance at 4K is the same and both CPUs allow an average of just around 100 fps.
Spider-Man Remastered
There was massively CPU-limited performance with both CPUs at 1080p and 1440p when testing to Spider-Man Remastered. However, the 7600X was found at least 17% faster compared to the 5800X3D. The test found that DDR5 offers a bigger difference because its memory bandwidth is very sensitive. So, the Zen 4 CPU is faster but the 4K is largely GPU limited with the RTX 4090.
The Riftbreaker
This game is heavily CPU bound and the 7600X was 8% faster compared to the 5800X3D at 1440p and 1080p. However, the margin dropped to 4% at 4K. But Zen 4 sustained an advantage over the previous-gen 3D V-Cache section of AMD.
