Some tech sites have reported that iPhone is supposedly planning to celebrate its 15th anniversary. But photographers are more excited regarding the 10th anniversary of the Fujifilm X-series. The event will reportedly mark the announcement for the launch date of its most awaited Fujifilm X-H2 camera. Point to be noted that the company released its first X-series camera, the Fujifilm X-Pro1 around a decade ago. Now, the Director of Business & Product Development of Fujifilm, Yuji Igarashi announced that the company’s next X-Summit event will be held in May 2022. The annual X-Summit is considered one of the massive events of Fujifilm for product launch. However, the company didn’t mention the Fujifilm X-H2 by name, but Yuji Igarashi said the 5th Generation X-Series Cameras will be announced in 2022.
A rumor earlier suggested that the company will supposedly release Fujifilm X-H2 camera in 2 versions. The Fujifilm X-H2 is considered one of the most attractive and reliable cameras. It will considerably be a stronger substitute to the latest full-frame cameras from Canon, Sony, and Nikon. It is noteworthy that most Fujifilm cameras use smaller APS-C sensors compared to their full-frame competitors. One of the X-H2 versions will supposedly be the first curvaceous design from the company. Moreover, the curvaceous sensors have far higher read-out speeds compared to standard backside-illuminated chips. It clearly indicates the Fujifilm X-H2 will be an attractive and exciting camera for sports and wildlife shooters. An earlier leak also suggested that the new camera will arrive alongside the XF150-600mm lens, as described in Fujifilm’s roadmap for 2022.
However, it is still unclear that what would be the major difference between the 2 rumored versions of the Fujifilm X-H2. But earlier rumors also suggested 26MP and 40MP resolutions for both these versions. They also predicted the planning from the company to announce other advanced models at the X-Summit in May 2022. Most professional shooters are hoping to see the arrival of a new X-Pro4 from Fujifilm at the event. It is important that Fujifilm X-Pro1 was the first mirrorless camera launched 10 years ago in January 2012. The company is now flourishing the Fujifilm cameras with the Fujifilm X-H2. It marks the confirmation of their capability to present something different to their competitors, especially a retro shooting style that protects the soul of the film history.
There could be a big challenge for Fujifilm because the market is filled with highly capable cameras and full-frame competitors. So, the company should need a big launch in 2022 with the arrival of its Fujifilm X-H2 camera. Most companies have recently launched their advanced cameras but the release of the X-H2 was supposedly delayed for May due to the global chip shortage issue. Now, Fujifilm has released some early tips regarding its planning for 2022. Keep in mind that there are increasingly more attractive full-frame options available from Nikon, Sony, and Canon. But Fujifilm cameras are always considered perfect smaller cameras to pair efficiently with its powerful prime lenses. Moreover, Fujifilm X-H2 with a curvaceous sensor can be an attractive new option for professional photographers.
