Most of us know that language-learning apps aren’t new. Duolingo and MIT are offering a new way to teach communication from your phone. Now, Microsoft is seeking to teach you Chinese language for free with its new AI-powered iOS app. This new approach would allow users experiencing a new way to practice the Chinese language without involving a real-life partner to communicate. The blog post of Microsoft’s Yan Xia said that if you meet a Chinese person and need to speak in Chinese language, you will not be able to talk to a Chinese person if you didn’t practice the language. Xia added that our application has the ability to solve this issue by using company’s speech and natural language processing technology. The company hasn’t yet disclosed its plans to extend to other languages, but such kind of new tech would allow people to connect others with different languages.
The new presented app uses a number of AI tools such as deep neural networks. It enables you to find out what you are trying to say by evaluating your pronunciation. The AI has been trained on data from native Chinese communicators including text-to-speech technology of Microsoft. When you find the app, you’ll get scored on your speaking ability and highlighted words that you need to work on. You will also get a sample audio to hear how the words are originally pronounced. The app has included separate systems for most beginners and intermediate learners. It would provide a much better help you in moving forward from your level of expertise. Xia said in the post that this app will offer a significant amount of help as a language learning partner.
