Apple to expand its Independent Repair Provider Program to More CountriesApple has announced that it will be expanding its Independent Repair Provider program to even more countries. So, your iPhone, MacBook, and other Apple devices will soon be easier to repair. The company first launched the program in 2019 and later expanded to Canada and Europe. Apple’s Independent Repair Provider program allows repair providers to get access to genuine parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostics from the company to safer and reliable repairs for its products. Moreover, participating repair providers have access to the same parts and documentation as AASPs (Apple Authorized Service Providers). Scott Baker of Mister Mac in Wimberley, Texas explained how the Independent Repair Provider program has helped his business. Baker said, “Being a part of the Independent Repair Provider program has been a huge benefit to my business, employees, and customers”.

Baker added, “Since joining, we’ve received great support from Apple, and we’re able to deliver that same level of service to our customers. It has even brought genuine excitement to our town”. There are currently at least 1,500 Independent Repair Provider locations that service Apple customers across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Apple has now planned to expand the program to accommodate repair providers in more countries. It is noteworthy that the company will start the program for interested repair providers in Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.

Point to be noted that Apple will launch its Independent Repair Provider program in more countries and regions later this year. So, you can check the full list to see whether the program will be coming to your country or region. Repair providers need to commit to having an Apple-certified technician in order to qualify to perform the repairs. However, there is no cost to join Apple’s Independent Repair Provider program. It is important that Apple has just been granted a patent on a MacBook with an essential SSK (solid-state keyboard). It is a flat glass surface that can be reconfigured on the fly depending on the individual needs of the user. So, you can set up a Numpad into one of the SSK’s regions or wipe away the keys to turn it into a drawing surface for graphics design tasks if you are doing data entry into a spreadsheet.
