  • Amazon has Launched Amp as a Live Radio App with a massive catalog of Amazon Music

On Tuesday, Amazon launched its Clubhouse competitor’s new mobile app and called it ‘Amp’. The newly announced app enables people to create their own live radio shows. They can act as a DJ, take callers, and play specific tracks from millions of licensed songs of Amazon Music.

It is noteworthy that the app isn’t currently available to the ordinary public because it needs a unique access code for the operation. Moreover, the App Store shows the app’s description page with essential information.

The page says people can now easily share their favorite songs and voice around the world with the new app, the Amp. They can create a playlist, decide a show title, and live-stream their own radio show. A news outlet The Verge previously reported about the new app during its development with the supposed name Project Mic.

The new app announcement clearly shows a delayed entry of Amazon into the live audio market. Meanwhile, the Clubhouse app steered with establishing a more advanced format for live audio social dynamics.

Amazon’s Clubhouse App

The key idea of the Clubhouse app effectively brought various competitors into the audio streaming market. Each rival presents its own unique ideas such as Live Audio Rooms of Facebook, Greenroom of Spotify, and Spaces of Twitter.

Some of them are from smaller startups including David Sacks-backed Callin and Mark Cuban-backed Fireside. However, these Clubhouse competitors were dedicated to talking such as live podcasts.

The Amp has shown a different approach to providing access out of the border to a huge catalog of Amazon Music. It clearly indicates that Amps users can DJ, chat, and stream artists and favorite songs to become a creator.

They can also use the app to present various channels such as pop culture and sports. The creator can also organize a selection of music for its audiences while talking to live callers at the same time.

Amp Description of App Store

Point to be noted that the description of Amp mentioned on App Store indicates more attractive options. The description says the app will now enable creators to pre-plan and efficiently schedule different shows.

Moreover, a creator can also alert its audience to upcoming shows and events. He can effectively manage live callers while taking calls. Keep in mind that creators will not pay for the labels while accessing specific music for their show.

It is supposedly added within the listing notes of the app. Meanwhile, it will enable users to sign in using their Amazon license. The sign-in page of Amp says users can create a new Amazon account in order to use the newly launched app.

It is noteworthy that various previous reports have suggested that Amazon is looking to launch an advanced platform. Amazon will reportedly use the platform to bring in influencers and celebrities to host shows.

Users can also search for them using their name, music, or title. However, the company hasn’t yet added many big names through its listing at the App Store. Moreover, the website of Amp is currently secure and password-protected because the app currently needs an access code to enter.

It clearly indicates that the newly announced app isn’t ready for prime time. But the company is supposedly seeking to launch the app for limited testing prior to a complete launch for a broader public.
