Motorola launched its new flagship, the Motorola Edge S. The Motorola Edge phones were stimulating with screens and edges which curved dramatically. It is not a new Motorola Edge successor, but another affordable phone from the brand. Point to be noted that the company is planning to launch the Motorola Edge S as the Moto G100 in other regions. We need to find more and of course, it is possible, but the Edge S isn’t the Edge 2. The Motorola Edge S was launched on 26th January in China, but we couldn’t find any official news of a launch beyond China. But, it was rumored that the handset could launch in April with a new Moto G100. However, leaked specs for that phone differ, so the two handsets might not be quite identical.
The Motorola Edge S has a few different prices for different amounts of RAM and storage in China. It is noteworthy that the company is selling the device at $310 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, $370 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and $430 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. We found some important specs and information about the Motorola Edge S from its Chinese launch. The device has a 6.7-inch screen using LCD tech with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It clearly indicates a few of Motorola’s 2020 smartphones have the same specs. The display of Edge S is broken up by 2 punch-hole camera cut-outs. The smartphone features Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset.
The Snapdragon 870 is Qualcomm’s newest top-end chipset and gets its debut with the Motorola Edge S. It is much similar to the Snapdragon 865 Plus from 2020, but with a few advancements because it is also a 5G smartphone. The Motorola Edge S has a powerful 5,000mAh battery and supports 20W wired charging (the charger is included in the box). The device has the ability to shoot 6K videos. The Edge S has 6 cameras including 4 on the back and 2 on the front side. The 2 front-facing cameras include a 16MP main and 8MP ultra-wide angle snapper. The backside cameras consist of a 64MP main, 16MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth-sensing, and Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera.
