It has been considered more of a proof of life than anything when TCL and BlackBerry announced at CES about their Mercury phone. But, they didn’t mention about the keyboard-toting core specifications of Android device, so you should buy first to explore the amazing features of Mercury phone. But, you don’t need to wait for a much longer time, because BlackBerry has confirmed that the device will be launched on 25th February 2017 assumingly with a final name of device, just before the end of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Point to be noted that TCL and BlackBerry haven’t yet provided clues, but just some specific hints about the new device.
This new device shouldn’t be considered as a mid-range device. Some rumors indicated that it will be launched with a Snapdragon 625 and 3GB of RAM. This device will have one 8-megapixel front camera and one 18-megapixel rear camera. This line up was due to an experience with the prototype and it was normally considered sharp and emotional. There would be a good reason for buying the Mercury for its gesture-friendly keyboard, not because of raw performance. But, it would make it more affordable device. Its supposed price might be closer to the DTEK50 or more-advanced hardware such as the DTEK60. So, this device shouldn’t be considered the only BlackBerry phone in the streamline.
