Huawei has got the top place in the Chinese tablet market. The iPad Pro of Apple was considered the best tablet among many in various major features. The powerhouse tablet of Apple is more efficient in several areas. It is more powerful because it efficiently replaced some laptops. The features of iPad Pro aren’t enough to support the company maintaining the top place in the Chinese tablet market. Chinese state media Xinhua reported that the global market intelligence firm IDC (International Data Corporation) released statistics. It indicates local tech giant Huawei has taken the top position in tablet shipments during the 3rd quarter of 2019.
The Chinese based company shipped out at least 2.12 million units and reached 37.4% of all tablets shipped in the market. It was 24.4% higher compared to the shipments a year ago. Apple is now at the 2nd place with a 33.8% market share. The CEO of Huawei consumer business, Yu Chengdong said during the MatePad Pro launch event that MediaPad M6 of Huawei is the best-selling flagship tablet the company had in its history. The device is available in 8.4-inch and 10.8-inch sizes. It was announced in the month of June and released in May 2019. Chengdong credits the MediaPad M6 for making Huawei the number one Chinese tablet maker in the market during the 3rd quarter of 2019.
The Huawei executive emphasized the company reached a top spot during this period, in spite of its inclusion in the Entity List. Apple pointed out that Huawei is intent on overtaking Apple and is working on its answer to the iPad Pro, called the MatePad Pro. The new device is slated for release in the month of December. It will have a 10.8-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600. This device has thinner bezels and a slimmer body. It is powered by a Kirin 990 backed by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a magnetic keyboard, a pressure-sensitive stylus/pen, a huge 7,225 mAh battery with 40W fast charging technology.
