Huawei is planning to launch its Mate 40 series as the last major flagship phone at the end of 2020. The new smartphones from the company are the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro Plus, and the super-premium Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS. These devices are expected to launch at the beginning of December 2020, or maybe on Christmas Eve. A leak has indicated that Huawei has been planning to launch its major flagship smartphone on New Year Eve. Point to be noted that the Huawei Mate 40 series was announced on 22nd October 2020. However, the Mate 40 series was announced in the UK but didn’t mention about its release date.
The latest announcement pointed out the price of the Huawei Standard Mate 40 at €899/$1,065, the Mate 40 Pro at €1,199/$1,420, the Mate 40 Pro Plus at €1,399/$1,655, and the Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS at €2,295/$2,715. The Huawei Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, and Mate 40 Pro Plus are much similar to a curved screen, a camera cut-out in the top left corner, and a big circular camera block on the back. The new camera design is named ‘Space Ring Design’ and it is attractive with the lenses in a ring around a central circle. The Huawei Mate 40 and Huawei Mate 40 Pro are coming in black, white, or mystic silver glass finishes or vegan leather in yellow or green color options.
However, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus will be available in a ceramic white or ceramic black finish. The Pro and Pro Plus are IP68 rated and the Huawei Mate 40 has just an IP53 rating water resistance. The Mate 40 series include both physical and virtual volume controls, and dual-stereo speakers. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 40 RS has octagonal camera housing and lines down the middle of the back. The device comes in ceramic white and ceramic black, similar to the Mate 40 Pro Plus. The Huawei Mate 40 has a 6.5-inch 1080 x 2376 screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 68-degree curved edges. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro Plus has a 6.76-inch 1344 x 2772 screen with steeply curved edges of 88 degrees and a 90Hz refresh rate.
