The spacecrafts and satellites can get a significant amount of help form artificial intelligence in order to observe interesting & amazing circumstances and facts prior to be discovered by humans. The Earth Observing 1 “EO-1” spacecraft of NASA has started capturing images of Erta Ale Volcano of Ethiopia. Point to be noted that Erta Ale had developed a new crack in the last quarter of January 2017. The volcanologists had shown their deep interest since it has been considered one of them having a group of volcanoes and lava lakes at the crowning point. So, they have forwarded requests asking NASA to use its Earth Observing 1 spacecraft to capture images of the flare-up ejection. But, now the currently captured images are available.
The Artificial Intelligence of EO-1 is called ASE (Autonomous Science-craft Experiment). One of the other satellites in the network alerted EO-1 about the event. So, EO-1 started work and captured photographs in progress lava lakes way of Erta Ale before asked by anyone. It is important that ASE has been guiding the actions of its host satellites for the last 12 years. It alerted researchers within 90 minutes of discovering an event and a new task was dedicated within few hours to EO-1. It might take weeks to accomplish the same task by a traditional ground team. The EO-1 was specifically designed to examine cutting-edge satellite technology and the artificial intelligence was supposed to be used for six months. But, now they are hopeful after this successful attempt of capturing most recent images.
