Computer Memory to Speed Up by 1000 Times using Terahertz Radiation

Terahertz TOne element prevents our personal computing speed is considered memory. The scientists from Europe and Russia have presented a new mechanism by using more powerful terahertz radiation and named it “T-rays”, it is the similar mechanism used in airport body scanners. Their research was published in the journal “Nature”, it swaps out magnetic fields for T-rays and it can boost up the rate of cell-resetting process using a factor of 1000, and it can be used in creating ultrafast memory. The radiation is originally a series of small electromagnetic pulses empowering the cells at the frequencies of terahertz and estimated at 0.1 millimeter.

The press release of the scientists indicates that frequencies are lying between microwaves and infrared light. Most of the current T-ray experiments have done with quick, specific to the inspections of mechanical & organic material. But, you will not see these types of hypothetical applications in your PCs in the near future. The scientists from above mentioned countries have demonstrated successfully to the concept on a weak ferromagnet, Thuliumorthoferrite and found the effect of terahertz radiation ten times larger than an ordinary external magnetic field. So, the new method would be faster and efficient. Now, the scientists are working for testing on original memory cells of computer.
