On Tuesday, Amazon announced that Ring has signed an agreement in bringing it as a part of Amazon. Amazon has shown its major focus in home automation after remarkable success of its Echo family products. These products enable users to control their surveillance cameras, thermostats, and various other connected devices using voice commands. The Echo Spot device of Amazon is already working with doorbells of Ring.
The intelligent assistant of Amazon powers Echoes and other devices. An undisclosed amount had invested in Ring by Amazon using its Alexa Fund in order to finance start-ups in integrating their products with Alexa. After buying Ring, tech experts believe that Amazon has more powerful plans for the product, instead of a partnership. The chief executive of Latch (a start-up making a range of smart-locks) Luke Schoenfelder said that Amazon will make a more remarkable work in entering the home security products market. It has the ability to compete against various companies, such as Comcast, Alarm.com, and ADT. He also predicted that Amazon might be looking in making home security products as its Prime membership service.
