Mercedes-AMG One hypercarThe Mercedes-AMG has confirmed its AMG One hypercar. The company officially entitled it “project One”. The company’s performance division has indicated that the project is dedicated to bringing Formula 1 hybrid tech to the road. The Mercedes-AMG One was announced last year at Frankfurt motor show. It is obviously an F1 car specially designed for the road. The vehicle features a version of the 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain from the Petronas Formula One racing car of the company. The 1.6-litre engine has the ability to reach 11,000rpm. Mercedes-AMG also confirmed its higher performance and long life because it uses Super Plus petrol in place of racing fuel.

The dual electric motors are attached to the front axle. These motors have the capability of spinning at more than 50,000rpm. It is almost 150% more as compared to the current industry benchmark of 20,000rpm. The power-plant of AMG-One remains below the rev limit of a race car. The final specs of the vehicle are yet to be confirmed. The company has indicated at the announcement of Project One that the system power output is at least 740kW (more than 1K horsepower). Mercedes-AMG said that the hypercar has the ability to reach 200km per hour in just 6-seconds and a top speed at 350km per hour. The vehicle can run up to 25km on electric power using the lithium-ion battery. AMG-One has 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system including a hybrid-drive rear axle, electrically-driven front axle.
