The latest invention of Tesla is a 100 KWH battery pack for their Model S and Model. This battery has the ability for non-stop travel up to 315 miles and it is considered advancement in existing model of 90 KWH. The Model S P100D is the first electric car available in the market having ability to cover 300 miles distance on a single charge using this upgraded battery. The module shape and size of this new battery is same as previous version of 90 KWH and it has more advanced with improved cooling mechanisms. The charging rate of 100 KWH battery is the same as previous versions, but supercharging rate is providing extra amount of time for battery.
The 3rd fastest accelerated car is the Model S P100D with best performance and it has the ability to speed up from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 sec with max power mode. At the other hand, electric SUV of Tesla (Model X P100D) hits 0-60 mph in 2.9 sec and has the ability to travel at least 289 miles with a single charge. The CEO of Tesla Elon Musk said in a press conference that Tesla electric vehicles have the ability to change their 90 KWH battery with new advanced 100 KWH batteries. The owners of P90D can upgrade with 100 KWH pack in $20,000 and those who have already submitted their orders for P90D but still waiting for delivery can get new pack of 100 KWH in $10,000. The price for new Model X is $135,500 and the price for Model S is $134,500.
