Mercedes-Benz has been planning to join the ranks of auto-manufacturers working on advanced hyperactive extravagant EVs. The head of company’s larger car division, Michael Kelz has indicated about an electric car with an impressive level of advanced tech S-Class sedan. Kelz didn’t provide more detail but confirmed that its EQ S name had trademarked earlier and pointed out that it will not share underpinnings the S-Class. Because it’s traditional car doesn’t have the ability to accommodate an entire electric design. The company is looking the EQ design language in finding a way into this model.
The company had promised earlier that its advanced versions of all-electric vehicles will be available by the year 2022, but it was said that EQ S could be available as soon as 2020. This isn’t exactly democratizing EVs (that’s up to the sibling Smart brand). However, the EQ S could still be important. Technology from highest-end vehicles of Mercedes sometimes filters down to other models for most beginners. It was also said that having an S-Class parallel would give EVs a degree of prestige they haven’t had before. It would be one of the first EVs from the company for customers with their own operators.
