Entirely electric airplanes are still in their relatively early stages. But, the hybrid aircraft is much closer to your expectations. The Airbus, Siemens and Rolls-Royce are in collaboration on finalizing a hybrid electric airplane prototype and named it the E-Fan X. It would present a mixture of traditional and electric engines on a single aircraft. The manufacturer would modify a BAe 146 by replacing one of its gas turbine engines with a 2MW electric motor followed by a second after finalizing everything smoothly. The company is hopeful that it would fly by the year 2020.
The joint venture is hopeful that that E-Fan X will rapidly mature the hybrid aircraft. It would be the first place to an unquestionable commercial narrow-body aircraft. It might be a long while prior to flying aboard a hybrid jumbo jet, but it might lead to short-flight aircraft that eat up much less fuel. Most tech experts believe that it will be more helpful in decreasing not just emissions, but a significant amount of running cost. Carriers may have a settled interest in accepting these types of aircrafts due to they would significantly enhance the bottom line. It would provide a considerable amount of help in the safety concerns regarding our environment.
