New Language Support added for Spanish and Italian in Google AssistantToday, Google has announced that its virtual assistant now has the ability to support 2 new languages, Italian for the users in Italy and Spanish for users in U.S, Mexico and Spain. These languages will be available after next few weeks. Google further indicated that these options will initially be available for Android users. The company also said that iPhone support for these languages will be announced after a couple of weeks, but during the current year. Google Assistant will now support a total of 8 languages after the addition of Italian and Spanish, including English, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese and Korean in more than 12 countries around the world.

Point to be noted that now virtual assistant of Google is in line with Cortana of Microsoft. Cortana also has the ability to support 8 languages. It is ahead to Alexa of Amazon as it supports German and some versions of English. It also left behind the Bixby of Samsung as it just support English and Korean languages. It is important that Siri of Apple is at the top from all above mentioned assistants as it is currently supporting 20 languages. So, it is more ahead from its entire counterparts. You should be sure that you are running Android 6.0 or higher version prior to using the new Google Assistant languages with your Android phone. The company has indicated that new language option will be available in the specific regions in the next couple of weeks.
