The “Lite” version has been announced from Facebook for its Android Messenger app. This new advanced version of Messenger app is specially designed for older mobile-phones having less memory and less powerful processing capabilities. The new Messenger Lite will be available initially in Venezuela, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Kenya. It will be available later for other regions but specific date hasn’t yet declared by the Social giant. It is much similar to the previously presented Facebook Lite app and the main objective to focus the users in emerging markets. The new Messenger Lite app has been especially designed to work efficiently on a wide range of Android devices.
This new app uses fewer amounts of data to connect at unpredictable network speeds. The social giant hasn’t yet disclosed the eliminated features in the light weight version, but it wouldn’t be more surprising it they are cutting features such as Chatbots or Stories. It has been announced that Messenger Lite has the capability to send and receive links, stickers and images. Facebook said that they targeted markets with a popularity of basic Android smart-phones. They didn’t mention whether there will be a similar app for iOS. If you have one of the old smart-phones then you can download your Messenger Lite app because they have launched this version for you.
